Symptoms of depression including depression accompanied by symptoms of anxiety, in patients w/ or w/o history of mania; obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder w/ or w/o agoraphobia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social phobia, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
Depression & OCD 50 mg/day. Max: 200 mg/day. Panic disorder, PTSD & social phobia 25 mg/day, may be increased to 50 mg/day after 1 wk. Max: 200 mg/day. PMDD 50 mg/day, either daily throughout the menstrual cycle or limited to the luteal phase of menstrual cycle. Dose changes should be made at 1-wk intervals. Max: 150 mg/day. OCDChildn 13-17 yr Initially 50 mg/day, 6-12 yr Initially 25 mg/day increasing to 50 mg/day after 1 wk. Max: 200 mg/day. Administer once daily either in the morning or evening.
Activation of hypomania or mania. Unstable epilepsy, history of bleeding disorders, hyponatremia, hepatic & renal impairment. Monitor for signs & symptoms of serotonin syndrome or NMS. Concomitant use of drugs that affect platelet function. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation.
